

Bleaching breaks pageantry rules?
Miss Ghana 2017 pageant, dubbed, ‘Miss Ghana 60 Years On’ has officially launched with its audition train moving across the length and breadth of Ghana.
Though auditions have been hugely successful across the regions, the audition at the Western part of Ghana seemed to have tested the firmness of the judges.

The auditioning process was halted briefly when a bleached skinned model(name withheld) made an appearance before the judging panel. the panel spoke highly of her eloquence and confidence at the audition though.
The interactions between the bleached skin model and the jury was not really a pleasant take for the model. She openly confirmed that she had actually tampered with the complexion of her natural skin.
According to her a cosmetologist introduced her to a cream to help her deal with ‘rashes’ on her face.

This she said, resulted in the 'lightening' of her facial skin. She was further urged on to apply the cream to all parts of her body in order to ensure uniformity.
She explained to the judges of her discontinued usage of the skin lightening cream yet her dark complexion has not returned.
The model pleaded with the judges to allow her to contest but her plea was turned down.
