The Institute for Education Studies (IFEST) has condemned teachers for leaking videos depicting classroom activities on social media.

A statement signed by the acting Executive Director, Peter Anti said it is "unprofessional" and "unethical" practices were an abuse of the right of the child.
His statement comes at the back of a video which shows a primary school girl who displayed fear when faced with the possibilities of interacting with the computer.
The primary school girl didn't seem embarrassed whiles running away from what appears to be fear of computer to learn Information and communication technology (ICT).

As seen in the video, the little girl pulled away from the teacher's grip whiles others tried to get her to click on the mouse.
She wept profusely whiles her colleagues laughed at her.
But the Institute for Education Studies said "Teachers are supposed to use technology in their teaching; more importantly to record the instructional sessions to enable them review the lesson with the sole aim of improving on the next lesson. Under no circumstances should a teacher record a pupil and share it on social media for the child to be ridiculed by the public."

The Institute has therefore called on the Ministry of Education and the National Teaching Council to codify the use of social media by teachers in the classroom.
"We therefore call on the Ghana Education Service, The Ministry of Education and the National Teaching Council to codify the use of social media by teachers. Again, we call on various bodies that enforce the right of the child to step in and speak against this worrying trend before it gets out of hand," the statement added.
