

The substance was found on the suspect after his vehicle was involved in an accident.
A police officer has been arrested with large quantities of a substance suspected to be Indian Hemp at the Gomoa Simbrofo Junction on the Apam Junction – Gomoa Ankamu – Winneba Highway in the Central Region.
The substance was found on the suspect, Constable Theophilus Boadu by the Apam police after his vehicle was involved in an accident, Accra-based Starr FM reports.
Personnel from the Apam District Accident Unit went to the scene of the accident and saw that the Benz vehicle with tinted glasses had damaged with both the booth and the doors affected.

Upon further inspection of the vehicle, they found three bags wrapped with a black cello tape, suspected to contain the narcotic substance.
The police officer said the items were his and he was subsequently arrested. The vehicle was also moved to the Apam station and the substance suspected to be narcotics have since been impounded for further investigation.

The suspect who mentioned one Kofi at Boti as the source of the items and one Kobbie at New Takoradi as the receiver has also been put in custody with efforts being made to inform his unit Commander at Koforidua.
