Politicians joined in with much of the nation Monday and took in the solar eclipse.
Many of those same politicians made a point to post photos of themselves wearing the necessary eclipse glasses — the glasses needed to avoid eye damage from staring into the eclipse.
Monday's eclipse was the first total eclipse to cross the country in nearly a century. The path of totality, where the moon fully eclipsed the sun, stretched from Oregon to South Carolina, but much of the rest of the country was able to view at least a partial eclipse of the sun.
Here are some of the politicos who posted photos sporting their eclipse glasses:
President Donald Trump
White House adviser Ivanka Trump
Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich
Sen. Michael Bennet of Colorado
Sen. Chris Coons of Delaware
Rep. Hal Rogers of Kentucky
Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslem
Rep. Bill Pascrell of New Jersey
Sen. Steve Daines of Montana and Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin
Vice President Mike Pence
Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas
Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross
Canadian President Justin Trudeau
