Brimah joined the South-African side this summer after terminating his contract with Spanish Segunda side Cordoba, but will have to wait to make his debut in Africa’s flagship club tournament.
The Ghana international was not registered by the club for this season’s showpiece due to the late arrival of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC), limiting him to just league appearances for the CAF Champions League holders.
Explaining the situation, Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane said: “Brimah’s ITC came late, so Razak is not registered for the Champions League. So he will help Denis [Onyango] in the local programme.
“We [also] have Thela because we can’t go with two [goalkeepers].”
