President Nana Akufo-Addo has pledged to ensure that teachers get better paid and have a better working condition.

President Akufo-Addo, who won power on the back of putting teachers at the forefront of his education policy, said the nation cannot value the education of children and disrespect teachers.
He made the comments at the 21st Congregation of the University of Education, Winneba on Saturday.
He said: “We must begin demonstrating our commitment to the education of our children by respecting teachers.”

He added: “We cannot value the education of our children and yet disrespect the teachers who teach them. I am committed to ensuring that teachers get better pay and better working conditions.”
