The country’s football governing body has confirmed they will seek divine intervention for the Black Stars
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is on a mission to make sure that a plane crash prophecy concerning the Black Stars does not come to pass.
A prophet in Kumasi, identified as Reindolph Oduro Gyebi predicted last week that the Black Stars were in for a plane crash, while also predicting the death of legend Abedi Ayew Pele.

While preaching on Ebusua FM in Kumasi, the General Overseer of God’s Crown Chapel said “there is a planned plane crash by the devil to hit the Black Stars team in September”.
The prophecy has since sparked panic among a section of Ghanaians, however, according to Communications Director of the GFA, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, the Association will seek divine intervention to avert the prophesy.
In an interview with Accra FM, Sannie said: “We [the GFA] will pray over this prophecy and we are sure this prophecy shall not pass.”

The Ayew family has also hit out at the prophecy, with Abedi’s senior brother Sola Ayew insisting “we don’t fear death in our family.”
The Black Stars are scheduled to face Mexico and USA in international friendlies on June 28 and July 1 respectively.
