

Luxembourg's openly gay 'first husband' joined world leaders' spouses for a photo and it was perfect
The husband of Luxembourg's gay Prime Minister Xavier Bettel has been mingling with the wives and girlfriends of other world leaders during the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) conference in Brussels, Belgium.
Gauthier Destenay, a Belgian architect, joined the likes of US First Lady Melania Trump in Brussels while their partners were off discussing world matters.
Prime Minister Bettel, 44, and Belgian architect Destenay entered a civil partnership in 2010 and married in 2015 after Luxembourg’s legislators approved gay marriage.

The First Gentleman, who married his Prime Minister husband in 2015, posed for photos with the group of women at Royal Castle of Laeken ahead of a dinner especially for spouses.
Bettel is the world’s only gay head of government since Iceland’s former Prime Minister Johanna Sigurðardóttir, a lesbian, and Belgium’s Elio Di Rupo finished their mandates in 2013 and 2015 respectively
