

Messi and father lose appeal over jail term at Spain's Supreme Court.
Barcelona star Lionel Messi and his father have lost their appeal to Spain’s Supreme Court over a tax fraud sentence.
The Argentina captain and his father were given a 21-month jail sentence in July 2016 on counts of tax fraud between 2007 and 2009.

Messi and his father aside the suspended 21-month jail sentence were also fined £1.75 million and £1.3 million respectively.
Jorge Messi, the five-time Ballon D’or winner’s father has however seen his 21 months suspended jail term reduced to 15 months after the tax money was returned.
