Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia says the Akufo-Addo administration will woo investors to build a cement factory in East Mamprusi in the Northern Region.
Bawumia, who is on a four-day tour of the Northern Region, said the area has a large deposit of limestone, the basic raw material for the production of cement.
He made the pledge when he paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the Mamprugu Traditional Area, Nayiri Mahami Bohagu Sheriga, at his palace at Nalerigu on Saturday.
According to him, the factory will be part of the government's one-factory, one-district policy.
He noted that the Akufo-Addo administration wants to build an all-inclusive government and spread development evenly.
“There is a particular resource which is here, which is limestone deposits in Gbandaa, and we hope that we can make it a factory for the production of cement and we are going to try to get investors to look at that as part of our One District One Factory initiative,” he said.
