
MoFCOM Scholars Alumni Association of Ghana (MoSAAG) has presented a number of items to the Moree Junction Islamic School in the Abura Asebu district of the Central Region.
The association is a network of Ghanaian scholars and professionals who have benefited from scholarship under the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) Scholarship of China.
Items presented by the association include over 3,000 exercise books, as well as pens and pencils.
The presentation formed part of the group’s commitment towards supporting teaching and learning in the school.
Members of MoSAAG also held mentorship sessions for the pupils.
The interactive sessions focused on key areas including emotional intelligence, breaking barriers, skills and talent identification, and how to align their talents with future courses of study.
The President of the association, Leonard Edem Cosmos, who presented the items, explained that, the initiative forms part of its commitment to give back to society and contribute to the development of young people across the country.
The Headmaster of Moree Junction Islamic Basic School, Alhaji Haruna Mohammed, who received the items on behalf of the school, commended members of the association for the presentation.
He said the presentation was a timely gesture and appealed to the group to extend other opportunities to the school.
He further appealed for infrastructure support for the school.
In his remarks, the chairman of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA), Yahaya Yakubu Abdulah, also expressed appreciation to the group for the kind gesture.
According to him, the items presented would relieve parents from the financial burden associated with the beginning of every academic year.
Since its establishment, MoSAAG has carried out several community impact activities across Ghana, including donations, clean-up exercises, mentorships, and capacity-building workshops.
The association reaffirmed its dedication to promoting bilateral relations between Ghana and China while fostering the personal and professional development of its members.
