
The Mfantsiman Old Girls’ Association (MOGA) over the weekend inducted its newly elected National Executive Committee members with the mandate to coordinate the affairs of the alumni community to support and advance the growth of its alma mater in various areas of endeavour.
The 10 member National Executive Committee members sworn in by Justice Eleanor Kakra Barnes-Botchway are Henrietta Opokua Amissah as President, Shirley Tony Kum, Vice President; Vivian Naa Momo Tackie, Financial Controller; Florence Ohene-Kyei, Executive Council Chair of the Endowment Fund and Nelly Joana Spio-Abaidoo, Secretary.
The rest are Sylvia Naa Momo Asheley Djanie, Assistant Secretary; Florence Emefa Senya, Chapters’ Chairperson; Thelma Korkor Yankson, PR Coordinator; Natasha Ampiah, Assistant PR; Justice Eleanor Barnes-Botchway, Legal Counsel and Evelyn Aba Eghan, International Coordinator.
The induction ceremony held on Sunday at the Accra Ridge Church under the theme: ‘Igniting a New Future on the Foundation of Our Forebearers,’ witnessed the celebration of leadership, service, and camaraderie to create a brighter, more promising future for the new generation.
In her inaugural address, theMOGA charged her executive body to work together in unity towards protecting the association’s legacy whilst fostering stronger alumni engagement and promoting community initiatives for infrastructural development.
“I pledge to lead together with my team with integrity, vision, and inclusiveness. Our association will foster a stronger alumni engagement and promote community initiatives that empower MOGA, mentorship programmes for our students to
nurture their young minds, shape their characters and instil values that will guide the generation on life’s journeys,” she assured.
The Very Reverend Dr Abraham Boateng in a sermon, advised the newly inducted executives to serve with passion and selflessness adding that “your sacrifices would ultimately be rewarded.
The Chief Executive Officer of Margins ID Group, Moses Kwesi Baiden Jnr, who was the guest speaker, advised the new
executives to strengthen their commitment in order to enable them attain their set target.
“By fostering inclusivity, leveraging the strengths of all members, and staying true to the vision of MOGA, you will be able to achieve remarkable milestones and leave a lasting legacy,” he stated.
As the Ebusuapanyin of Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA), he expressed his commitment to deepening the relationship between the two associations to promote its mutual goals and interest.
Mr Baiden on behalf of Margins ID Group, presented a cheque for GH¢20, 000.00 to the association as part of their corporate social responsibility.
There were goodwill messages from Adisadel Old Boys, Mfantsipim Old Boys, Wesley Girls High School Old Girls, St. Augustine’s Past Students Union, Holy Child Past Students, Ghana National Old Students, Aggrey Memorial Old Students and Prempeh College Old Students Association.
