A total number of 106,223 university graduates have been posted to diverse organisations nationwide to undertake their mandatory national service for the 2024/2025 service year.
They include the 2024 batch of Ghanaian graduates from all accredited universities in the country, Ghanaians who had completed studies abroad, defaulters, and private applicants, who registered for the service.
According to the management of the National Service Authority (NSA), posted service personnel would officially begin their national service from Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
In a press statement issued and signed by the NSA Director-General, Mr Osei Assibey Antwi, and copied the Ghanaian Times on Saturday, the Authority said a subsequent mop-up exercise would be conducted for any remaining unassigned personnel.
“The Management of the NSA is pleased to announce the official release of posting for 106,223 person as of today, September 6, 2024, to undertake their mandatory national service for the 2024/2025 service year. A subsequent mop-up exercise will be conducted for any remaining unassigned personnel,” the statement said.
“These personnel include the 2024 batch of Ghanaian graduates from all accredited universities in the country, Ghanaians who have completed studies, defaulters, and private applicants who registered for the service,” it stressed.
The statement further said that all deployed personnel were required to follow the validation and registration process, which included checking of placements, printing of appointment letters, booking of appointment for registration, and the completion of registration.
According to the NSA, the validation and registration process that would take place at all regional centres across the country would begin on Thursday, September 12, 2024, and end on Monday, September 30, 2024.
The NSA said that reposting of deployed service personnel was not permitted and, therefore, urged all national service personnel to embrace their posting as a vital part of their responsibility and contribution to national development.
“Management extends its best wishes to all service personnel for a successful and fulfilling service year,” it added.
