The Apostles Revelation Society (ARS) has appointed a seven-member committee of lay judges of the church in Accra on Sunday.
The committee has one year tenure of office, during which it is tasked to resolve conflicts in the church.
At the swearing-in held in Abelenkpe, the ARS International Headquarters Annex, five out of the seven members were present.
The foremost task assigned the committee is to endeavour to bring back break-away members of the church.
The committee has Togbui Dukli Attipo V, Chief of Anyako, chairman; with Nana Tabiri Ampem Kyeremeh II, Sanaahene of Sunyani Traditional Area; Torgbe Israel I, Ekye Amanfrom, Afram Plains South as members.
Others were Lawyer Samuel Kenneth Agbenu, Member, Ghana Bar Association; Elder Holy Kwesi Agboloso, Member, Institute of Internal Auditors Global; Madam Salomey Avornyo Sokakofe, and Elder Charles Nutornutsi Tadzewu.
Apostle Brigadier General (rtd) Tehn Addy, administered the oath of office to the Lay Judges.
He urged them to let the light of Christ guide them.
Apostle Brig. Gen. Addy reminded them of their charge to do justice to all in order to unite the church.
He prayed to God to give the members wisdom, understanding, and fortitude to discharge their mandate without let or hindrance.
For his part, Togbui Attipo V expressed his profound gratitude to the church, adding that they are committed to work to unite the breakaway groups.
With God’s guidance, Togbui Attipo V said the committee would accomplish the task assigned to them.
Currently, the ARS is in court over the break-away of some members.
On May 29, 2024, the Accra High Court (General Jurisdiction 5) presided over by Justice George Aikins Ampiah-Bonney (Jnr) ordered the church to resolve the issue within 40 days.
The court in a ruling said it would proceed to hear the matter if the committee is unable to resolve the issue within the stipulated time.
