Angel Smile Foundation, a charity organisation that seeks the welfare of children and women, gifted over 280 pieces of Wax Print (cloths) to women on admission and health workers on duty at the La Poly Clinic and Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH).
The donation by the NGO, under the leadership of Naa Ofamota Otsejen I, the development queen mother of La Nmati Dzarase, known in her private life as Prophetess Beatrice Ayorkor Adjetey, was a way of putting smiles on the faces of women admitted at the hospitals during the celebration of Mothers’ Day each year.
The foundation’s mission is aimed at giving orphans, under age mothers and those in need as well as those who have suffered abuse and lost the chance to take control the opportunity to rebuild their lives and fulfil potentials.
The Coordinator of Angel Smile Foundation, Mr Ebenezer Adjei Adjetey, speaking at one of the presentations, called on all parents to be mindful of abusive words they use on their children whenever they are offended.
According to him, most of the curses and abusive words tend to have major impact on the children in the future which often makes life difficult for them.
The foundation paid the medical cost of a 17-year-old girl at the Korle-bu Maternity ward whose parents could not afford to pay for her treatment due to financial difficulties.
Staff at the La Poly clinic and KBTH on behalf of the women on admission expressed their profound gratitude and appreciation to Naa Ofamota Otsejen I for her unwavering support to women on Mothers’ Day.
