The Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA) is hosting the first-ever national 3×3 Championships at the Prisons Basketball Court in Cantonment, Accra.
The three-day championship for both male and female teams across the country is expected to help the GBBA select players to commence preparation for the Africa Games.
At stake are giant trophies for both categories, cash prizes as well as products from sponsors, Twisco energy food drinks, among others.
The recent success of Team Ghana at the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) Zone games in Togo has encouraged the GBBA to scout for more talents.
“We have been hugely encouraged by the feat in Togo recently, and we believe if we open it up, we would have a core team for both male and female categories to represent Ghana at the impending Games, a member of the planning committee for the championships, Madam Aurora Commodore-Toppar, told the Times Sports.
