Japan’s Naoya “Monster” Inoue retained his WBA and IBF bantamweight belts when he stopped Aran Dipaen from Thailand at 2:34 into the eighth round in Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday.
Dipaen put up a stern challenge fighting back at times, but this was not enough as Inoue hurt him with stiff jabs.
The champion also varied his attack, scoring to the head and body with stinging shots that left the challenger with a nosebleed.
After another big left hook in the eighth round, the referee stopped the fight.
Naoya improved his record to 22-0; 19 and Dipaen’s record dropped to 12-3; 11. – Reuters
