Master Benny Fenny, a student of the St Peter’s Senior High School who emerged the proud winner in this year’s National Science and Mathematics Quiz, has been presented with his scholarship by the Accra College of Medicine.
The scholarship covers six years tuition fees at the Accra College of Medicine which amounts to the Ghana Cedi equivalent of US$ 75,000.
He would undertake a six-year programme in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in Medicine (MB ChB) at the College.
Mr Emmanuel Mantey, Admission and Marketing Officer of the College, said the College instituted the scholarship some years ago to support education and the learning of Mathematics and Science through the national Science and Mathematics quiz, to offer a free tuition scholarship to one of the nine finalists of the competition on yearly basis.
The Accra College of Medicine is a premier private and independent Medical College set up to provide cutting edge medical education in the country.
It provides world-class medical education that is research-oriented and tailored towards solving Ghana and Africa’s health problems.
“We aim to train medical practitioners who are professional and ethical, scientists, innovators and educator with the commitment to lifelong learning and making a difference in the community”, Mr Mantey said.
“The College is an institution that boast of world class facilities, a small class size, a leading faculty, a unique and visionary curriculum, a broad based education and an entry and admission system that ensures entry for a wide range of education including first and second degree holders”, he said.
St Peter’s SHS emerged the overall winners of the competition which is in its 25th year, after a highly contested final competition with the West Africa Senior High School and Adisadel College.
