Management of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has interdicted two medical doctors and two nurses over their alleged failure to provide emergency medical attention to a hit-and-run victim who was later pronounced dead.
The decision, according to hospital authorities, forms part of internal administrative measures to allow for a full and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and the unfortunate death.
A committee has been constituted in line with established procedures to conduct a thorough inquiry into the matter. The committee is expected to determine the facts, assess compliance with emergency care protocols, and recommend appropriate action based on its findings.
Pending the outcome of the investigation, the Board and Management have urged all persons connected to the incident to cooperate fully with the committee to ensure a fair, transparent and expeditious process.
The hospital has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability and the delivery of quality healthcare services. Management assured the public that further updates will be communicated upon completion of the investigation.
