In the Central Region, the Regional Police Command arrested seven suspects in an intelligence-led operation within the Cape Coast Metropolis on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
The suspects—Robert Kobbina, Abu Issifu, Janet Mensah, Emmanuel Quarshie, Osei Boateng, Animful Emmanuel, and Charity Nkrumah—were picked up at identified drug peddling hotspots at Effutu, Poly Amisano, and Nkanfoa.
At a known narcotic drug base at Effutu, police arrested Robert Kobbina and Abu Issifu. A search conducted on Robert Kobbina led to the retrieval of assorted suspected narcotic drugs and related items, including sachets and tablets of Timaking, Tdrona, Royal Fart, dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, tobacco products, lighters, and assorted cigarettes.

The operation was later extended to Poly Amisano and Nkanfoa, where police arrested Janet Mensah, Emmanuel Quarshie, Osei Boateng, Animful Emmanuel, and Charity Nkrumah. A search at a drinking spot operated by Janet Mensah led to the retrieval of three jackpot gaming machines, large quantities of cigarettes, tobacco products, and lighters. An additional four jackpot gaming machines were seized at Nkanfoa.

Exhibits retrieved included eight jackpot gaming machines, thirteen rolls of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, three mobile phones, three scissors, three lighters, one power bank, one empty phone case, and GH¢25.00 in cash.
