Charges
Count One – Offensive Conduct
Prosecutors allege that on September 4, 2025, during a live YouTube broadcast, Appiah Biblical made a series of abusive, offensive, and inflammatory statements targeting Dr. Owusu Bempah.
These statements, according to the charge sheet, included claims that the complainant had impregnated a woman, engaged in incest, and offered money in exchange for sexual acts remarks the prosecution described as “malicious” and likely to provoke public disorder.
Count Two: Publication of False News
The court heard that the accused allegedly made additional claims intended to cause fear and panic, including allegations that the complainant had contracted others to kill him and had engaged in other criminal conduct. Prosecutors insist the pastor knew these claims to be false.
Brief Facts
According to the brief facts presented in court, Dr. Owusu Bempah intercepted a video circulating widely across social media platforms—including a YouTube channel named SourcetubeTv—in which the accused was heard making the alleged defamatory and alarming statements during a live-stream.
The matter was reported to police, leading to Pastor Appiah’s arrest. Investigators secured forensic captures of the video and audio materials, and with assistance from the Ghana Institute of Languages, transcribed the content into written form for use as evidence.
