
The family of the missing Tema West Constituency Women’s Organiser of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Paulina Lamisi Akanbodiipo, has petitioned the party to offer every assistance that will lead to locate the missing organizer.
The petition, dated June 20, 2025 and signed by Mr Paul Anamde Akanbodiipo (brother) and Mr Robert Baba Akanbodiipo (family head) was addressed to the General Secretary, NDC, Accra.
Captioned: PETITION FOR URGENT ATTENTION ON MISSING TEMA WEST CONSTITUENCY WOMEN’S ORGANIZER OF THE NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS, PAULINA LAMISI AKANBODIIPO, I write on behalf of the Akanbodiipo family of Sandema in the Builsa North Municipality.
We are deeply disturbed by the disappearance of our daughter and sister who is the Women’s Organiser of Tema West Constituency of the party, Madam Paulina Lamisi Akanbodiipo.
The petition continues that, it has been over a year since her disappearance on June 12, 2024 and the police investigation took a slow pace, particularly with the DNA, and this is worrisome to the family.
It further states that, as a brother, family representative and an NDC member, we are by this letter requesting immediate assistance of the party to help locate our daughter and sister, as the family is in a situation of shock and despair having tried our best to resolve the issue.
The petition went on that, we particularly urge the party to among other things help the family to get an update on the current status of the police investigation.
Also, expedite efforts to resolve the case by exploring additional measures to fast-track the investigation and provide support, as well as assistance to the family during this challenging period.
It, in conclusion, states that your prompt intervention would bring hope and reassurance to the family, likewise the party, and awaits your decisive action.
Madam Paulina Lamisi left her home at Sowutuom in Accra on that fateful Wednesday June 12, 2024 in the morning and her whereabouts is unknown.
The following day, Thursday June 13, 2024 the police in Tema Community 25 found the body of a female adult with hands, legs, head/neck removed and wrapped in black polythene, which was placed in a suitcase. The said container was abandoned in the bush.
The family’s representatives went to observe photographs taken as part of the investigation but stated it was not their missing relative.
Police investigation uncovered that her mobile phone terminated two days later, June 14, 2024 at Kanda where her momo wallet was equally emptied.
She earlier traveled to Lome and Lagos to conduct business, according to some members of her party in Tema West.
However, the husband told police that she returned safely. Though the investigation was extended to her known business partners in Lome and Lagos, nothing concrete came out of it.
