The Management of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has urged traders, hawkers and drivers to adhere to decongestion directives issued by the assembly, as it attempts to rid the Central Business District of the Garden City of filth, starting May 5, 2025.
A statement issued by the assembly named the affected areas as; Adum, Kejetia, Pampaso, Dr. Mensah, Zoo enclave, Dunkirk, Roman Hill, around Kejetia Market, Adehyeman and Alarba. KMA has warned that trading in the aforementioned areas and unsanctioned jurisdictions would not be allowed.
“From May 5, 2025 trading in the streets and other unauthorised areas of the Central Business District (CBD) is prohibited.
To this end, traders are expected to remove all wooden and metal structures from their trading points, as directed,” the statement said.
