
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Jaman North, Ahenkwaa Yaw Frederick, has promised to financially support the youth in the area who are interested in learning vocational skills, and help them to commence their apprenticeship and establish their own businesses.
He noted that youth development “is very key in my development agenda for the constituency,” and promised to do more to resource the youth to be good and independent entrepreneurs to secure their livelihoods.
The MP said he was determined to create the enabling environment for the youth and the unemployed to generate employment.
Mr Ahenkwaa said increasing investment in young people was the key to development. This, he said, includes promoting quality vocational education that prepares them for the future.
He said that empowerment of the youth with education and skill training was key to the economic development of the country.
Speaking at a graduation ceremony at Brodi in the Tain District, the MP pledged to pay the graduation fees amounting to GH¢2,200 for the graduating apprentices.
He also gave the assurance that he would use part of his Common Fund to feed the youth learning vocational skills in Jaman North till they graduate.
