
The Northern sector Director of Ghana Post Company Limited, Mr. Johnson Asante has indicated that the company’s operations are steadily returning to normalcy following governmental interventions to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Asante said in spite of the closure of airports from the emergence of coronavirus, Ghana Post was able to adjust to meet the demands of its customers and the general public.
According to him, the difficulty which faced customers of the company to send parcels particularly local foodstuffs to relations is now over and people can now export items like dawadawa, koobi, herrings and ginger among others.
Mr. Asante disclosed that Ghana Post has established a 24-hour internet service under a World Bank/Ministry of Communications collaboration to enable people to transact their businesses online.
Mr.Asante said his outfit has diversified into commerce and currently trading in soft drinks and minerals water to boost its finances.
He disclosed that the company’s main challenge is cash flow to replace the fleet of cars and rehabilitate some buildings upon the directives of the management.
According to him, GP offices at Sunyani, Berekum, Techiman are undergoing rehabilitation to meet demands of customers.
