Presenting the first batch of masks to the Ministry of Health, the donor, Rudra Raj Singh noted the need for private support individuals to fight the Covid 19.
“We aim to provide FDA approved masks to both the Ghanaian medical staff and people in deprived communities. We believe that masks and other health equipment are essential in the battle against Covid 19. We believe that empowering the Ghanaian with masks could help fight the virus alongside approved hygienic procedures”
In accepting the masks, the Deputy Health Minister, Dr Oko-Boye was thankful for the kind gesture.
‘You don’t need sophisticated equipment to get people healthy but all you need is a good partnership that provides some of the basic things to protect people from the virus. Government can touch lives but private individuals are huge in numbers than government. I’m happy that as young as you are you are helping with such a project and I know many lives will be affected.’
Rudra Raj currently has donated 250 FDA approved masks to the Ministry of Health for disbursement and hopes to scale up production to other hospitals and communities in the country.
