
BOSIET is a mandatory requirement, for anyone going offshore.
The five beneficiary journalists include; Emmanuel Ohene-Gyan of Empire FM, Akwasi Annim of Citi TV, Marie Aziz Tunde of GBC from Takoradi in the Western Region.
The rest are Daryl Kwaw of Joy News and Jessica Acheampong of the Graphic Business.
The journalists went through three days of intensive training at the Ghana Maritime University (GMU).
The training included Fire Safety and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPS), Helicopter Under Water Escape Training (HUET) and Sea survival.
Some few months ago, Tullow took journalists from the Greater Accra and Western Regions through the intricacies of upstream sector oil and gas operations.
According to Tullow, the training forms part of the company’s plan to afford Ghanaian journalists a hands-on experience of offshore reporting.
The three days training ended on Saturday, November 30th, 2019.
