Call your MMDCE’s to order - Kennedy Agyapong to Local Government Minister

The New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central constituency in the Central Region, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has called on the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Hajia Halima Mahama to call Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives to order else they will destroy the fortunes of the ruling party.

According to the outspoken lawmaker, the actions and decisions of these MMDCE’s is gradually affecting the electoral fortunes of ruling New Patriotic Party hence the need for them to be brought to order.

Speaking on Oman FM’s political analysis programme “Boiling Point” Tuesday night, Kennedy Agyapong who is known for his ‘frankness’, said “some of these MMDCE’s need to be talked to because they are making the government very unpopular on the ground.”

“The other day I sent someone to buy me something at the Tema station (around Tudu) and the person came back to report to me about a nasty thing he saw. The guy told me that he saw a member of AMA taskforce who was very angry pushing avocadoes on a table being sold by a lady down and doing same for other things. And I said how possible? We don’t have to sit down for this taskforce members to destroy President Akufo-Addo’s administration,” he fumed.

He urged the Local Gov’t Minister to quickly arrange a meeting with the various MMDCE’s to have a discussion with them in order to stop such excesses. Read Full Story
