South Sudan moved a step closer to the group stage of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after a commanding 4-0 victory over Djibouti at the Juba National Stadium in the first leg of their preliminary round tie.
The emphatic result puts South Sudan in a strong position ahead of the return fixture, with a place in the next stage now firmly within reach.
In the other tie, Seychelles and Lesotho played out a goalless draw, leaving the contest finely balanced heading into the second leg.
Both fixtures will be decided in the return matches scheduled for Sunday, March 29, where the final places in the group stage will be confirmed.
