Ghana Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has shared his excitement after their emphatic victory over Russia in the Pink Ladies Cup.
The Queens locked horns with their Russian counterparts on Tuesday afternoon and cruised past the side with a convincing 4-0 victory.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Kim Lars Bjorkegren shared his delight, insisting that the Black Queens deserved the triumph over the European opponent.
“Of course, you, you always dream about the best, but, I mean, we, we knew before the game that they were the favourite because of the ranking and the history. But we also know that we trust our girls so much, and we know that we're just getting better for every game, for every can, for every day. We're together for every meeting, for every training.
“We're just getting better and better. And to win today, I'm super happy that we won today, but I mean, in the way, we won also with four zero, and it was deserved for zero is not for lucky goals, it's in the way we played it. It's amazing,” Kim Lars Bjorkegren said.
The win over Russia is the Black Queens’ second at the Pink Ladies Cup, currently ongoing in Dubai, UAE.
The Ghana women’s national team defeated Hong Kong in their first match and will now prepare for a final test against Tanzania.
