Belgian-Ghanaian winger Francis Amuzu delivered on the big stage, scoring as Gremio cruised to a 3â0 first-leg win over arch-rivals Internacional in the Gaucho Final at Arena do Grêmio.
After a tight opening half-hour, the hosts broke through on 34 minutes when Jose Enamorado made it 1â0, setting the tone for a dominant display.
Amuzu then doubled Gremio’s advantage in first-half stoppage time, striking in the 45+1st minute to put his side firmly in control before the break. Internacional struggled to cope with Gremio’s intensity and fluid attacking play, and the night got even worse for the visitors when Carlos Vinicius added a third in the 68th minute to seal a commanding 3â0 victory.
The goal continued Amuzu’s strong form in the 2025/26 Gaucho campaign, where he has now made 8 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist.
Gremio will look to finish the job in the second leg, as they travel to Estádio Beira-Rio to face Internacional again on Sunday, 8 March 2026, with one hand already on the state title after this emphatic first-leg win.
