Jerome Opoku delivered an assist late on to cap a dominant night for Istanbul BaÅakÅehir in a crushing 5 1 home win over Gaziantep FK in Super Lig Round 17.
The Ghanaian defender played the full match and kept his focus until the end, sliding a measured pass into Ivan Brnic’s path in the 84th minute to complete the rout at the BaÅakÅehir Fatih Terim Stadyumu.
BaÅakÅehir set the tone early. Eldor Shomurodov opened the scoring on 21 minutes before Drissa Camara briefly drew Gaziantep level. The response was swift. Abbosbek Fayzullayev restored the lead, then Arda Kizildag turned the ball into his own net just after the break.
Umut Gunes added a fourth with a clean finish, and the game tilted further when Kevin Rodrigues was sent off for the visitors. With space to attack, BaÅakÅehir pressed on, and Opoku’s assist crowned a performance built on control and patience.
The hosts dominated possession and created the clearer chances, pleasing the home crowd. For Opoku, it marked his first assist of the league season after sixteen appearances overall there.
