Karela United coach Nurudeen Amadu admitted that dropping points against Vision FC would have been disastrous after his side secured a vital 1â0 win in Matchday 15 of the 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League.
The victory at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium was sealed in the 56th minute when Malik Abubakar finished clinically from a low cross, giving Karela the edge in a closely contested encounter.
The win moves Karela United up to 8th place with 23 points, providing a much-needed boost as the league intensifies.
Vision FC, on the other hand, remain in 16th position, still struggling in the relegation zone after a string of poor results.
“It’s very, very important because we are going to play two away matches against All Blacks and then Nations FC. Those are matches where anything can happen,” Amadu said.
“So if we had dropped points here, that would have been very, very suicidal for us. It’s a welcome respite victory for us, and we are very grateful.”
Karela now prepare for an away clash against Swedru All Blacks, while Vision FC return home to host Nations FC in a key fixture that could define their fight for survival.
