Antoine Semenyo scored to put AFC Bournemouth ahead but Burnley fought back late to earn a 1-1 draw in Saturday’s Premier League Round 17 clash at the Vitality Stadium.
The Ghanaian forward started and finished the match, leading the line with pace and confidence. He was a constant problem on the left and lifted the home crowd with every run. His moment arrived on 67 minutes when a loose clearance fell kindly in his path. Semenyo stayed calm, shaped his body and curled a fine shot into the far corner to break the deadlock.
Bournemouth controlled long spells, enjoying most of the ball and creating the clearer chances. They pressed high, moved the ball quickly and looked set to take all three points. Burnley offered little for long periods and struggled to match the hosts’ intensity.
However, the visitors stayed alive and were rewarded in the final moments. In the 90th minute, Armando Broja rose highest to head home from close range and silence the stadium.
Bournemouth will turn its attention to its league game against Brentford on December 27th.
