Hearts of Oak midfielder Hussein Mohammed has been slapped with a three-match suspension by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after he was found guilty of misconduct in the Premier League encounter against Asante Kotoko.
The midfielder was charged by the GFA for misconduct following an incident involving referee Reginald Collins Amoah after the Super Clash at the Accra Sports Stadium in November.
The confrontation reportedly occurred after the final whistle, as the referee and his assistants were making their way to the dressing room. Hussein Mohammed is alleged to have rushed toward the referee in anger, but was quickly restrained by police officers who had surrounded Amoah for protection.
In its verdict after concluding its investigations, the GFA Disciplinary Committee has found the Hearts of Oak midfielder guilty and banned him for three matches.
“Accra Hearts of Oak SC player, Mohammed Hussein, has been handed a three (3) game ban and warned by the Disciplinary Committee for misconduct following a Ghana Premier League match against Asante Kotoko SC.
“The player was found guilty of unsporting behaviour towards the match officials of the said game. The suspension is effective immediately,” the Ghana FA announced in a notice on Monday, December 15.
