Heart of Lions coach Bashir Hayford expressed frustration after his side’s 1-0 home defeat to Aduana FC, highlighting that training routines were not reflected in match performance.
Aduana moved to the top of the Ghana Premier League with 2 points following a disciplined display that ended Lions’ unbeaten home record this season.
Patrick Mensah scored the only goal in the 51st minute. After his first shot was blocked, he reacted quickly to guide the rebound into the net with precision.
Hayford criticized his players for failing to execute what had been rehearsed in training.
“I told them on the training ground that what we rehearsed was not coming through. So I asked them whether something had gone wrong.
“Is it anything different from what we do in training and what we expect them to do? That’s why I was furious, because it is not once, twice, or three times,” he added.
The victory lifts Aduana FC one point clear at the top of the table, playing a game more than Medeama in second.
Medeama did not play this weekend as their match against Bibiani GoldStars has been postponed.
