Mohammed Salisu eyes win over Galatasaray in next Champions League clash
Ghana international Mohammed Salisu has set sights on helping AS Monaco to secure victory in their next Champions League match against Galatasaray.
His comment stem from the side’s stalemate against Pafos FC in matchday five, held at the Alphamega stadium on Wednesday evening.
The Black Stars defender started and lasted the entire duration of the match as his outfit played out a 2-2 away draw with the Cypriot side.
Despite scoring an own-goal, the former Southampton star emerged as the Man-of-the-Match prize in the high-stake clash, at the Alphamega stadium.
Having threw away their two-goal lead, the Ghana international has set sights on securing victory against Galatasaray in their next match, while urging an improved defense.
"This is a big lesson for us. We need to defend better in such games at difficult venues especially at set-pieces. We knew Pafos were always going to be threat. We also needed to ensure we took our opportunities at the other end. We're still in the competition, but we must go to Galatasaray in the next Champions League game and get the three points." He said after the match.
The 26-year-old Ghanaian defender has made four appearances in the Champions League this season after five matches.
In all competitions, Salisu has made 12 appearances for the French giants, scoring one goal across the period.
