Basake Holy Stars have been left without their substantive head coach after Augustine Evans Adotey abruptly abandoned his role following the club’s week eight defeat to Hearts of Oak.
Adotey, who previously managed Medeama SC, went absent without notice after the 2-1 home loss, leaving assistant coach Rashad Musah to take charge of the team. Under Musah’s interim leadership, Holy Stars have recorded one win and two defeats.
The newly promoted side have endured a difficult start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season. With only one win, three draws, and six losses from their first ten matches, they sit 17th on the table, five points from safety.
Holy Stars now turn their attention to Wednesday’s outstanding week three fixture against unbeaten Asante Kotoko at the AAK II Arena. Speaking ahead of the match, interim coach Rashad Musah expressed confidence in the team’s approach.
"We are approaching the game just like we approached the last three matches that we played. We played well against Gold Stars, Karela United and Vision FC, even though we didn’t get the nine points that we wanted," Musah told Holy Stars TV.
He added that the team must maintain the same work ethic and mentality as they seek a result that could boost their survival hopes.
Holy Stars have struggled at both ends of the pitch this season, scoring just seven goals and conceding 16, but a positive outcome against Kotoko could mark a turning point in their campaign.
