Nigerien outfit Sahel FC have set their sights on securing the services of Asante Kotoko captain Ndongani Samba O’Neil ahead of the January transfer window.
The rock-solid defender, who is in the final year of his contract at Kotoko, has attracted significant interest following an impressive performance since his arrival.
The Congolese international joined the Porcupine Warriors in 2024 from Rahimo FC and has since established himself as a key member of the team.
With his contract running out, the Nigerian outfit, who are keen on bolstering their squad has enquired about the availability of the defender.
Amid growing interest, the Porcupine Warriors has moved to extend the contract of the dependable defender beyond 2026.
The record Premier League holders are said to be close to agreeing a new deal with the Congolese centre-back.
Out of ten matches in the Ghana Premier League this season, the 25-year-old centre-back has made eight appearances for Kotoko, scoring one goal across the period. In the CAF Confederation Cup, Samba made four appearances, scoring a goal as the Ghanaian giants bowed out in the second preliminary round.
Since joining Kotoko, Samba has made 42 appearances across competitions, scoring two goals and delivering an assist.
