Heart of Lions coach Bashir Hayford attributed his team’s late 2-2 draw against Vision FC to a loss of concentration in the closing stages of the match.
The visitors appeared in control after Michael Ephson opened the scoring in the 47th minute, followed by Paul Atta’s 78th-minute strike that gave Lions a two-goal cushion.
Vision FC responded earlier than expected when Maxwell Sensah scored in the 63rd minute, setting the stage for a dramatic comeback.
Substitute George Tei completed the turnaround with an 82nd-minute equaliser, securing a valuable point for the home side.
“I think they were off a little, so we got the second goal. Same loss of concentration, the ball was already gone,” Hayford said after the game.
“I even thought it was gone, then the player just put the ball in, and it went straight into the net, which was very, very unusual. I thought the same. That is football, once again. We have gotten one point away.”
The draw leaves Heart of Lions second in the Ghana Premier League with 22 points from 11 matches, just one behind leaders Aduana FC. Vision FC remain tenth with 14 points, reflecting a mixed campaign with three wins, five draws, and three defeats.
Next week, Vision FC will travel to face Hearts of Oak, while Heart of Lions host Karela United, both sides seeking crucial points in the race for league positions.
