Real Tamale United secured another win in Zone One of the Access Bank Division One League, defeating Yapei Warriors 2-0 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
The visitors held their own in the first half, but RTU came alive in the second, scoring twice in the final ten minutes. Jonas Manyina converted a penalty in the 82nd minute, and Samuel Lamptey added the second in the 88th minute.
The victory keeps Real Tamale United at the top of the Zone One A table with 18 points from eight matches, closely chased by city rivals Tamale City, who also have 18 points but trail by a single goal.
Elsewhere, KAC Academy handed Berekum Arsenal a 2-1 defeat at Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa. Stephen Korankye opened the scoring in the 16th minute, followed by Addo Gerrad Zack’s strike in the 63rd. Gideon Gyan pulled one back for Berekum Arsenal in the final minute, but it proved only a consolation.
Meanwhile, Bolga All Stars cruised to a 5-2 victory over Sankara Nationals at the Kurt E.S. Okraku Sports Complex in Winkogo. Fatawu Adamu Maiga and Samed Bukari both scored braces, with Dennis Nyaaba and Innocent Zoot Dong adding further goals. Sylvester Biyandal and Wilfred Chiralaga scored for Sankara Nationals to make the scoreline respectable.
