Yaw Paintsil made an early impact for Lillestrøm, setting up the opening goal in their commanding 3â0 win over Stabæk in the Norwegian 1. Divisjon.
The Norwegian-Ghanaian winger started brightly at à råsen Stadion and delivered a precise cross in the 23rd minute, which Felix Va headed home to give Lillestrøm the lead.
Paintsil’s energy and sharp runs down the flank kept Stabæk’s defense under pressure until he was substituted in the 66th minute to warm applause from home supporters. His creative spark helped Lillestrøm control possession and set the rhythm of the game.
After the break, Va struck again in the 67th minute, this time assisted by Eric Kitolano, who later added a third in the 83rd minute to seal a comfortable victory. The result underlined Lillestrøm’s dominance, with 56 percent possession and 10 total shots compared to Stabæk’s three.
The fans left delighted, not only by the win but also by Paintsil’s influential display. Lillestrøm will now turn their focus to the Norwegian Cup final against Sarpsborg 08 on December 6.
