Eugene Ansah scored a stoppage-time goal to crown FC Ashdod’s impressive 4â1 win against Hapoel Haifa in the Israeli Ligat Ha’al at the Yud-Alef Stadium.
The Ghanaian forward, who played the entire game, capped off a lively performance that thrilled the home fans.
Ashdod recovered quickly after conceding an early goal from Javon East in the second minute. Ibrahim Diakite’s header brought them level in the 33rd minute, followed by Jean Batoum’s powerful header just four minutes later. Ori Azo extended the lead before halftime with a fine finish into the top corner.
Ansah put the finishing touch on the victory deep into stoppage time. After a swift counterattack led by Karim Kimvuidi, Ansah calmly slotted home from the center of the box to the bottom left corner, sealing the win in style.
The result pushes Ashdod up the standings, with their next challenge set against Maccabi Tel Aviv on November 30.
