Ghana international Gideon Mensah is happy at AJ Auxerre, with reports linking him to Portuguese giants FC Porto described as unfounded, Footy-Africa has reported.
The left-back has been in fine form in France this season, but his representatives insist no formal contact has been made with the former UEFA Champions League winners. Mensah, 27, has been one of Auxerre’s standout performers, featuring in 10 matches and providing one assist. Although clubs such as Sheffield United and Royal Antwerp have shown interest, speculation involving FC Porto has been dismissed.
According to Footy-Africa, sources close to the player confirmed that "contrary to recent reports, FC Porto have not made any move or expressed formal interest in Gideon Mensah."
Mensah remains fully focused on Auxerre, where his contract runs until June 2026. While the French side could reportedly consider offers around â¬2.5 million, no negotiations are currently underway. For now, the Black Stars defender’s future remains firmly with Auxerre.
