Ghanaian international Terry Yegbe has named Austrian and Real Madrid defender David Alaba as his role model.
Yegbe, who currently plies his trade for French Ligue 1 outfit FC Metz in an interview with Flashscore revealed his admiration for Alaba, while counting on him to improve his game.
“I love how calm he is with the ball. I try to learn from his videos to see how he positions himself, how he uses the ball. I want to improve.” He said.
The 24-year-old had spells with West African Football Academy and Vision FC before departing Ghana for greener pastures. Born in Akatsi in the Volta Region of Ghana, Yegbe began his European adventure in 2022 with a loan move to Finnish side SJK Seinajoki.
His commanding performances earned him a switch to Sweden, joining IF Elfsborg, where he made 40 appearances, scoring four goals and impressing with his aerial ability and ball distribution.
Currently in the books of Metz, the enterprising defender will be hoping to attain greater heights of his football career.
Yegbe has become a mainstay at FC Metz, making eight appearances in the French Ligue 1 this season.
