Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki says he is fully committed to improving his game at the club despite growing transfer interest from some of Europe’s biggest sides.
The 23-year-old, who was born in the United States to a Ghanaian mother and Japanese father, has been one of Serie A’s standout performers this season, attracting attention from Chelsea, AC Milan, and Bayern Munich.
Reports from Il Corriere dello Sport suggest AC Milan and Chelsea are leading the race to sign him in 2026, but Suzuki insists his focus remains firmly on Parma and the World Cup ahead.
“I want to become one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and I am very focused on Parma and the World Cup,” Suzuki said.
“I am a calm person, a goalkeeper always has to be. I cover the goal and I can play with my feet. I work every day to improve myself in all aspects.”
The Japanese international has been instrumental in Parma’s strong start to the Serie A campaign, impressing with his composure and distribution.
His performances have made him one of the most sought-after young goalkeepers in Europe.
Suzuki’s current contract with Parma runs until 2029, and reports suggest the club has no intention of selling him before 2026 unless his â¬40 million release clause is met.
Despite the mounting speculation, Suzuki appears unbothered by the attention and remains focused on his development.
“Every match is a new challenge,” he noted earlier this month. “I just want to keep improving.”
With his blend of calmness, agility, and leadership, Suzuki’s stock continues to rise â but for now, his sights are firmly set on continuing his growth at Parma and proving himself on the biggest stage.
