Black Queens Head Coach, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, says his team is in high spirits despite having limited time to prepare for their crucial 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Egypt on Thursday.
Speaking ahead of the first-leg encounter in Ismailia, the Swedish coach admitted that additional preparation time would have been ideal but praised the players’ attitude and energy in camp.
“Of course, you always want more days to prepare for important games like against Egypt, but otherwise we have really good energy and we're looking forward to playing another two games here,” Bjorkegren said.
The Black Queens will face Egypt at the IsmailiaâSuez Canal Stadium before hosting the return leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
Bjorkegren remains optimistic that the team’s focus and enthusiasm will give them an edge as they aim to secure qualification for the continental tournament.
