Mohammed Salisu played the full 90 minutes as AS Monaco battled to a 0-0 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in their UEFA Champions League clash, putting in a commanding defensive performance despite his team’s dominance in possession.
Salisu was heavily involved at the back, completing 41 of 45 passes and registering 59 touches, helping Monaco retain composure under pressure. The Ghanaian centre-back excelled in defensive duels, winning all six of his aerial challenges and both of his ground duels.
He also made seven clearances, along with two blocks and two interceptions, consistently neutralising Tottenham’s counter-attacks and keeping his side in the contest.
The 26-year-old has now made five appearances this season, including two in the Champions League, after missing the opening three Ligue 1 matches due to fitness issues.
Salisu’s poise, positioning, and aerial dominance were crucial for Monaco in securing a point, keeping them unbeaten against Tottenham in their H2H meetings, and underscoring his growing influence in European competition.
