Aduana FC ended their seven-game winless run on the road with a commanding 2-0 victory over Hohoe United in their Ghana Premier League matchday six encounter at the Hohoe Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The Ogya Boys produced a disciplined and clinical performance to stun the newly-promoted side, who were seeking a third consecutive victory in the top-flight.
After a cagey first half that saw both teams cancel each other out, Aduana broke the deadlock in the 64th minute through forward Mezack Afriyie.
The attacker latched onto a loose ball inside the box and powered a low drive beyond the reach of the Hohoe goalkeeper to put the visitors in front.
Hohoe pushed for an equalizer, but their efforts were thwarted by a solid Aduana backline marshalled by captain Alex Boakye.
Despite going down to ten men in the 86th minute after Raymond Agyemang’s red card, Aduana sealed the win deep into stoppage time.
Emmanuel Marfo finished off a swift counterattack to score his fourth goal of the campaign, wrapping up all three points for Cioaba Aristica’s men.
The result marks Aduana’s first away victory of the season, while Hohoe’s two-game winning streak came to an abrupt end in front of their home fans.
