Police Ladies affirmed their superiority in Ghanaian women’s football after defeating Faith Ladies 2-0 to win the 2025 Champion of Champions title.
The contest, which brought together the 2024/25 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League champions and FA Cup holders, was tightly contested in the early stages. Police Ladies dictated play and created several openings, but Faith Ladies’ solid defence, marshalled by goalkeeper Annabel Bansah, kept them at bay for much of the first half.
Their persistence paid off in the 33rd minute when defender Philicity Asuako rose highest to head home from a corner, giving Police Ladies a deserved lead. Faith Ladies found it difficult to respond after the break as Police Ladies maintained control and dominated possession.
The decisive moment came in the 72nd minute when Deborah Afriyie calmly finished to double the advantage. Despite a late booking for Henrietta Kwayisibea Addo, Police Ladies managed the closing stages confidently.
At the final whistle, the league champions celebrated a commanding performance and a clean sheet, completing a memorable double with the prestigious Champion of Champions trophy.
